Building a software company's product: the Spatial CMS

Soft Focus · Creative technology / immersive content · Recent engagement

The client

Soft Focus works in immersive content — 360° panoramic photography turned into virtual tours that let people walk through spaces from anywhere.

The brief

Turn that capability into a product: a Spatial CMS — a content management system purpose-built for immersive content, where 360° panoramas form the core structure and virtual tours are the output. A real SaaS platform with two distinct streams: a creator tier for people building tours for themselves and their own clients, and an enterprise tier where high-end clients get their content created for them along with custom integrations and services.

What EBI built

The platform engineering behind that product — the CMS core, the tour-generation pipeline, and the multi-tier account model that lets one codebase serve both a self-service creator and a white-glove enterprise customer. EBI’s role is the one it plays best: the engineering partner that turns a domain expert’s product vision into shipping software, without Soft Focus needing to build and carry a full-time engineering function.
